Gareth Southgate.
This guy seems permanently obsessed about racism.

Every week he seems to want to discuss it.

His latest claim is that the racism threat determines who he now chooses to take penalties.

I appreciate that a few morons, mostly from outside the UK, chucked some racist comments at the players who missed penalties against Italy but it really isn’t as bad as he makes out in this country.

The guy should concentrate on trying to coach England rather than be a mouth piece for BLM.

You and him have a lot in common then.

Re: Gareth Southgate.
As with a lot of moans about why people are talking about something, it's because they've been asked in a press conference. He doesn't just wander around telling people these things.

He's standing by his team and this clearly means something to them. There's a spirit with England at the moment similar to West Ham and I'm loving both, and what he's doing seems to galvanise them somewhat. If that means backing anti-racism campaigns then that's fine by me.

Re: Gareth Southgate.
You say his latest claim is that the racism threat determines who he now chooses to take penalties, but he didn't say that at all. What he actually said was the usual mealy mouthed nonsense, agreeing that it adds some layer of complexity, but also stating clearly:

“It wouldn’t be right to not pick the players you think are best to take them because of what the possible consequences of them missing would be,” he said. “I’ve got to pick them on the belief they are going to score.”

Much as I dislike Southgate, you ought to realise that at most press conferences he only discusses what he's been asked, so it's not really his fault if you think he wants to discuss racism all the time.

TOUCHE, goose

As said he gets asked things in those pointless press conferences they do by desperate hacks needing a story.
Someone said that England were the only team taking the knee (in front of the junior Hungarian racists) but am sure I saw Italy & Germany do the same.
The team obviously want to keep doing it and it winds people up .... so carry on.

Re: Gareth Southgate.
Pity he isnt as vocal about homophobia and misogyny as he is about racism.

If he was he wouldnt be going to a tournament in a country that throws gay's off tall buildings and stones women for wearing the wrong clobber.

In fairness to him however he has loads of company in this regard. Why the 'civilised' nations of the world hav'nt boycotted the forthcoming world cup is beyond me.

Football family my fucking arse!

Re: Gareth Southgate.
I don't follow England enough to be bothered by what he says outside of a match.

I just wish he was a little more daring in the way he sets up England to play, and preferred if he didn't just pick all his favourites even when they're bang out of form, the WASITCOAT wanker.

Re: Gareth Southgate.
I have to confess to having problems with Southgate. Technically he was OK but lacked that certain spark or passion that gets the crowd going. A boring player - perhaps a bit like Milner but with less passion.

That's how I see him as a manager. Technically good but dull as dishwater. He has done well with the superb young players that England now produce but, we still don't win anything important really.

At major tournaments the young talented players must get fed up and demotivated by his dull monotone voice and complete lack of passion about everything.

I'll be very pleasantly surprised if we don't miss out after starting well at WC again. He just isn't a winner for me

Re: Gareth Southgate.
He's got a Moyes style perma mind fuck after that calamity of a decision to bring a couple of players on cold to take a pen in a fucking european champ final, the fucking look at me cunt. The reason they missed Gareth is because you threw them under the bus, not because people we're having a go at their factory fitted suntans you clueless cunt. That and the pair of them are shit at pens didn't help either.

Vexed 11:18 Tue Jun 7

Agreed. Southgate's obsession with being seen as Mr Diversity cost us the Euro's.

His decision to bring on three young black players to take pens because he thought it would earn him a right on knighthood was one of the most pathetic decision sI have ever seen any manager make.

It's a good comparison, Moyes and Southgate.

Both undid a hell of a lot of good work by stupid decisions.

goose 11:48 Tue Jun 7
Re: Gareth Southgate.
hahaha yeh Southgate only brought them on because they were black.

none of his decisions were about winning games it was all geared to push the BLM agenda.
